About “To Put It Simply”

20151107-228A9722Disclaimer #1:  This website is undoubtedly an oxymoron in the making.

Why?  Because throughout these pages and posts, Madison (the author) is going to attempt “to put it simply” (whatever the subject may be). If you do not see the contradiction in the previous sentence, more than likely you do not yet know Madison. Let’s just say she can be a talkative one. To explain things concisely and to stay on topic can be quite the challenge.  This website is her challenge to herself to be thorough and yet concise.

Dear Readers,

I have pondered the idea of creating a website for some time now. In all honesty, this website was born purely out of a love for exploring.  I love exploring the incredible world around us (nature, cultures, etc); however, I equally enjoy exploring the world of thought. Recently while pondering (something brilliant I’m sure), a particular thought struck me out of nowhere …like a semi truck: abruptly and with great force. “Strive to find the simplicity [of life] within the complexity.” Then it was as if the 18 wheeler started doing donuts around me to keep driving the thought home (Disclaimer #2:  There will be puns). Life is undoubtedly complex…and my goal is not by any means to oversimplify it (or any of the various aspects of it).  There is beauty and wonder in its complexities. However, I also see immense value in learning how to communicate those complexities in tangible, understandable ways.

I was inspired to create “ToPutItSimply” to practice effectively and concisely communicating thoughts. I am a thinker. I naturally enjoy formulating, contemplating, analyzing, evaluating, and challenging thoughts. This website is my attempt to take thoughts captive, digest them, and then share them… Like a bird who consumes a meal and then regurgitates it to feed their family.  Just kidding…that is disgusting.  Although I suppose it depends on whom you are talking to. A biologist might find that illustration beautiful, and there certainly is something beautiful about sharing resources and nurturing the development of those near and dear to you.  I digress (Disclaimer #3:  This might happen often around here).  Back to the point.

For me, the “To Put It Simply” challenge involves three “C”s:

“To be Conscientious and to present thoughts in a Concise yet Comprehensive manner.”

This is what I will strive for within these pages and posts. Whether exploring the world around us or the digging deeper within, there are beautiful, wondrous, mysterious, incredible aspects of life to be unearthed, acknowledged and admired.  I know many of us live full lives and free time is limited. Therefore, I hope to keep my posts short, sweet, and to the pointe (How could I leave you without one last pun?).

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into my head as we journey together out into the world.

Blessings,

Madison
